What is adhesion?
There are two types of adhesion in the coating industry, shear and tensile. These are both a measure of how well the coating has adhered to the substrate or the coating sticking to itself.
What are DeFelsko adhesion products?
DeFelsko adhesion testing machines come as a manual and an automatic adhesion tester. Both work with several types of pull dollies to meet the various ASTM and ISO standards. This can also be called an adhesive tester. The automatic adhesion tester has most of the technological features as the DeFelsko Positector.

How do I use DeFelsko adhesion products?
With the ATA, using the meter is a simple as adhering the dolly to the test surface and pushing a little green button. With the ATM there is a pressure gauge on the face of the meter to ensure all pulls are done at the same rate.
Do the DeFelsko adhesion products require any formal training to use?
Anyone that is familiar with the ASTM or ISO methods should be able to perform adhesion tests with little to no training. This holds true to most of the DeFelsko equipment including the DeFelsko Positector/PosiTest series such as the DeFelsko DPM and DFT meters.
